It is a system of pitched roofing, carried out through the assembly of simple, lightweight and practical components which together offer advantages in construction, such as excellent insulation and greatly reduced installation time. An old saying in human history states, "There is no house without a roof." This tells us in a few words how important the roof's role in a building is.

Man has always sought shelter from inclement weather and to have a space to call home. The first stage in achieving this is to have a roof over his head for protection as well as for delimiting the living area. Creating, designing, innovating and transcending have been constant endeavors for humankind, as shown in every corner of society. Architecture and engineering have not lagged behind; on the contrary, they have heralded much progress in knowledge.

Roofing is an element in evolution. Resilience has always been an objective, with materials that withstand the passage of time, such as sandstone, rock, marble and clay.

In many cases the use of these traditional materials has declined, creating a new array of problems. The construction of flat roofs has reduced the use of materials such as roofing tiles due to whims of fashion or taste, but the cost in terms of maintenance, aesthetics and quality of life has been great. The expense of a flat roof goes beyond its construction: waterproofing, the loss of climatic comfort in the rooms, the expense of air conditioning, and something that cannot be replaced: the aesthetic of the urban environment.

Traditional roof-building methods cannot guarantee standards and quality in construction. The Mexican habit of self-construction makes this even harder.

With this problem in mind, Tejas El Águila has developed a system called
